Clinical Pharmacology Study of Oral Edaravone in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Patients With Gastrostomy

To evaluate the pharmacokinetics of single doses of edaravone oral suspension in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Patients with gastrostomy

Transcranial Static Magnetic Field Stimulation (tSMS) in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

This study aims to evaluate safety and efficacy of tSMS in ALS patients and to obtain preliminary data about the effects of tSMS on cortical excitability. To this purpose, 40 ALS patients will be recruited and randomized to real or sham tSMS.

Respiratory Muscle Training (RMT) in ALS

Twelve adults with ALS will participate in a study involving four 3-week cycles of progressive respiratory muscle training (RMT). The investigators will measure maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure (MEP) weekly.

Remote Pulmonary Function Testing and Nurse Coaching in ALS

Comparison of respiratory outcomes in patients receiving telemedicine-guided remote pulmonary function testing (rPFT) with or without the additional support of nurse coaching. This is a randomized controlled study which assesses the effects rPFT and coaching on respiratory outcomes and quality of life.
